The members of V-Day DC will stage their fourth annual reading of Eve
Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues in an effort to raise awareness to end
violence against women. Proceeds will benefit V-Day (www.vday.org), a global movement dedicated to ending violence against women and girls, and The DC Rape Crisis Center (www.dcrcc.org), a local organization that helps survivors and their families heal from the aftermath of
sexual violence through crisis intervention, counseling and advocacy. All members of the DC community are invited to attend.
This year, all performances of The Vagina Monologues will spotlight the
high levels of violence against women and girls in Haiti, and will focus
on the increased rates of sexual violence since the devastating
earthquake that took place in January 2010.
