Finalist Dinner Host Responsibilities:
- Identify a venue and make appropriate arrangements (i.e., make a reservation)
- Serve as the designated contact person for current Scholars interested in attending (i.e., have your contact information available on our website and in emails to the TSA listserve)
- Serve as the designated contact person for Finalists interested in attending (i.e., have your contact information available on the Truman Foundation's website)
- Contact current Scholars in your area about your event (TSA will provide a list of Scholars in your area)
- Keep track of RSVPs (TSA will set up a Google Form spreadsheet to facilitate this process)
- Arrive at venue in advance to ensure proper setup
- Greet/host the event and take photographs (or designate a volunteer photographer)
- Provide post-event information (e.g., attendance, recommendations, photographs, etc.) to the TSA
Venue Requirements:
- Informal and inexpensive (all attendees, potential and current Truman Scholars, must cover his or her meal and transportation expenses)
- Available to provide separate checks for attendees
- Close to the interview location (TSA will provide you with the address of the interview location)
- Preferably quiet in order to facilitate discussion among attendees
- Able to seat 20+ attendees comfortably for dinner, preferably not at one long table but smaller tables to facilitate discussion

- Preferably common food for Finalists who might not be
familiar with ethnic food and will have to interview the following day.
(i.e., probably not Ethiopian or Indian food). Also, the venue should offer vegetarian
options.
- Recommended time is 6:30-8pm local time, as Finalists prefer a full night's rest before the interview.
