Join fellow Truman Scholars for the National Day of Service & Remembrance!

This year, for the second time, the country will honor September 11 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, and to be sure, Truman Scholars will join in volunteer activities across the country. In the Washington DC region, we are organizing a group of Scholars to volunteer with Greater DC Cares, and we hope that you will join!

Our team, the “Harryed Hands”, will be volunteering at The Washington Home, where we will share the morning with residents, spruce-up their facilities and September 11 Memorial, and support their efforts to provide health care, rehabilitation, and long-term care services for elderly residents and their families. We'll all swing over to a fabulous eatery afterward to see who served the hardest, who served the most, and who served the classiest.
