Greetings Trumans in the Twin Cities,

Summer is in full swing and it's high time that Trumans in the Twin Cities assemble in a fashion that would have made Harry S proud.  So, we have organized an afternoon opportunity for us to get together and catch up in the sun.  We hope you can join us.

What: Potluck Picnic for Truman Scholars in the Twin Cities
When: 3:30 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2010
Where: Northwood Park, 38th and Boone Avenues, New Hope, MN 55428

In the spirit of the Truman Scholarship, we are inviting you to participate in a pre-picnic service project from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  The project is for Project for Pride & Living.  PPL is a great non-profit organization focused on working with lower-income individuals and families to achieve greater self-sufficiency through housing, employment training, support services, and education.  Volunteer participants will help host a picnic and games for local residents, followed by a few hours of landscaping and beautifying the property.  Volunteers will walk away having made a tangible impact on the residents and their residence. If you plan to participate in the PPL service project, please RSVP to volunteering@iamsocialcapital.org and cc Amy Hertel (MN '98).

Please share this to any Trumans you know in the area.  Of course, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to David Simon (MN '02).

We're looking forward to seeing you there.

Best wishes,

Judy Grew, MN '86
